At the corridor's end is the bedroom, tastefully appointed, which sleeps two. (A pull out sofa in the living room provides convertible sleeping for an additional two.) A small desk, night stand and lamp are provided as well as a full length mirror which adds the illusion of depth to this modest, but suitable bedroom. An additional single bed may be used as a sofa or as a single bed for this extra guest. This little street was “discovered” by François Mitterrand, while strolling through the old parts of Paris , as he loved doing before he became President of France. He fell in love with it, and bought a house at number 22 Rue de Bièvre. All the buildings in the street were immediately renovated to a high standard. The President has died, but the atmosphere of the road which he so wanted to preserve, has lived on. Turn left out of your front door and take twenty steps and you are on the Quai de la Tounelle along the Seine, with Notre Dame Cathedral in front of you and the Ile Saint Louis and Ile de la Cité. Turn right out of your front door and take a few more steps, and you arrive at the charming Place Maubert, with the Metro, taxis, buses, a baker (Kayser - one of the great bakers of Paris) a butcher, fishmonger, vegetable and fruit shop, florist, and a renowned twice-weekly market, and the Boulevard Saint Germain, beloved by French intellectuals, with its cafés and cinemas. Better still, sit and have breakfast on your little terrace, surrounded by plants, and watch Paris wake up and savor the atmosphere and the quiet, as the street has a 'no entrance' sign for traffic at both ends. The apartment is on the 1st (French) - 2nd( US ) floor, with elevator. The building entrance hall has book shelves. To the left as you enter the apartment, is the living room, with two sofas (one is a sofa bed for occasional use) and chairs, dining area for four, integrated music system and digital TV, and all facilities for computer connections, looking over a private garden. At one end is a fully equipped open kitchen, with dishwasher, new multi-function electric oven, vitroceramic hotplates, washer/dryer, and cupboards. There is a bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower, WC and basin. To the right, the bedroom has a king-sized double bed which can be divided into two, with copious hanging and shelf space for clothes. The original beams are showing and the lighting has been designed by a decorator. The apartment has an atmosphere of quiet chic and Parisian charm, and when you are sitting reading a book or just resting, you cannot imagine that you are just steps away from the busy hub of Paris, although the sound of the bells of Notre Dame comes down the chimney - but they only ring for services and during the day. This bright luxury one bedroom apartment is right in the middle of Saint-Germain des Prés in the living-fashion and artistic center of Paris, sheltered in one of the most popular, active, and sparkling neighborhoods of central Paris. From its windows, you have a direct and splendid view on the Boulevard Saint-Germain and the rue de Buci (the apartment is a few steps away from the daily and lively open-air market of the rue de Buci). If you love the Paris street scene at its best, you will love our apartment with four double pane windows overlooking Boulevard St. Germain and rue du Buci.
The Buci vegetable street market is just a three minutes walk away from the apartment. Some of the best coffee shops, bakeries and bars are all along rue du Buci. A gourmet vegetable market is just behind the apartment. There are two grocery stores within 2 blocks from the apartment A taxi stand is right across the street under the living room window. If you like to take Metro, there are two very conveniently located Metro lines very close to the apartment. The Metro Mabillon is just a few steps from the apartment and Metro St. Germain is about two blocks away from the apartment. The two most famous coffee shops, Café Flore and Café deux Magot are both located about two blocks away from the apartment. There must be at least 100 restaurants within a few blocks of the apartment. Brasserie Lipp, the famous Bistro is just two blocks away. Located in probably the most desirable and artistic district of Paris, this apartment is very modern, luxurious, centrally air conditioned and completely remodeled in March 2007. This 2nd floor (American 3rd floor) 650 sq.ft. apartment is accessed by coded entry gate. It has two elevators and an elegant curved and well lit staircase, which is kept very clean by the concierge.

Although the bedroom is small, it is bright and cheerful and has just been redecorated. There are modern bedside lamps and a mirror-fronted closet. The bathroom has a shower unit only--however, it has a strong jet and there is constant hot water. The living room overlooks a charming ivy covered courtyard--very provincial in aspect with window shutters on the other apartments, which unobtrusively share this open courtyard space. The bedroom has a lovely four-poster double bed and an armoire. Windows in the bedroom face the back of the building and look onto a courtyard. The WC is in a separate room. The bathroom has a bidet, washbasin and a bath with a shower over. Furnishings are contemporary and pleasant. Normally, check-in time is between 2 PM and 4 PM and check-out is 10 AM.
We confirm the exact price when a reservation is booked. Prices depend on the current exchange rate of the dollar, number in the party and dates of travel. Prices quoted include heat, electricity, towels, linen, cleaning fees, taxes and our fees - unless otherwise stated. Charges for telephone calls are extra. Most properties require a refundable breakage/damage deposit.
